Rebecca Kingsley has been celebrated for pushing musical boundaries as the first non-Latina to successfully cross over into the Bachata genre. Her sophisticated, soulful brand of Bachata has received industry support and local critical acclaim in Santo Domingo, New York City and all over the world.
The bonus track on Rebecca Kingsley’s Soul/Jazz debut album entitled "Untouched" is a Bachata cover of the classic R&B standard, "Killing Me Softly”. The success of this song inspired the making of an entire Bachata album. In August 2012, Rebecca and Dominican producer, Remy Nuñez, began work on the new Bachata album, and in only three months, had written and arranged over a dozen original songs. In January 2013, Rebecca released the “Killing Me Softly” music video, receiving more than 20,000 views in the first 48 hours.
